Lives of Saints Widget

The brief lives of saints are also available using a Dashboard widget for Mac OS X.

The widget provides the saints (eastern and western) commemorated on the current day (using either the old or new calendar) and brief summaries of their lives can be accessed for some. The icons are only available on the web site, however.

The widget is currently only available for Macintosh computers. However, a Yahoo widget for Windows XP could also be developed, if there is sufficient interest.

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is required. If you are using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it. If you are using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

To use the new calendar, click on the "i" in the lower right corner of the widget and select "New style" under "Church calendar" on the preferences panel.

Download Lives of Saints widget version 0.1 (initial release).
